2-sday: 2 Looks 2 Palettes (one brand)
I thought I would do this... maybe every once and a while. I was just going to start this because I got 2 of the Milani Eyeshadow Palettes... but then I got two new palettes from Essence also... and I thought that this would just kind of make sense to do another one of these posts... I'll start with a little overview of both of the palettes and then I'll get into the looks.
Overview
So as far as I could tell at my drugstore- essence had 3 new and different palettes for $9.99. I got 2 of them... the ones I got were "Spice Up Your Life" and "I'm With The Band"... so one is a warm neutral and the other is a Smokey.
Both of these are the most adorable palettes I've seen from the Drugstore. The I'm With The Band is especially cute because it looks like a mixtape. The shade names also follow the theme of the palettes, so each shade on I'm With The Band is named after a song, and each one in the Spice Up Your Life has to do with spices.
These have a lot of variety in them with 16 shades in each palette... but the big drawback is that there are 8 shades on the top- 8 shades on the bottom and nothing attached to separate the two. It did come with plastic taped on each side... which I was initially going to keep taped in there... but the tape started to stick to the other side and I just thought that there was too much of a risk of the tape getting on the eyeshadows and ruining them... so I took those out. I know that that's going to make it probably pretty messy... but it's a risk I'm willing to take. I knew what I was getting myself into when I bought the palettes so I'm not going to complain about that. The 16 shades do give the palettes quite a bit of variety and from just playing around with them right after I bought them (a thing I'll probably blog about soon... but it's something I'm pretty much going to start doing whenever I get a palette.) I was pretty impressed with these! So I'll do a full review sometime... but so far I'm not disappointed!
1) Spice Up Your Life Look
I primed with the Milani Eye Primer and I used Maple all over the lid. I put Coco Loco in the crease and I went in with Wild Pepper on the outer corner. I think I may have also used a little of the shade Mulled Wine on in the crease. In the inner corner I used Caramelts and on the browbone I used Vanilla Bean. I used Essence Lash Princess Mascara also!
And here's some of the other makeup that I used with it too...
2) I'm With The Band Look
For this look I used Don't Speak in the crease and then I used Californication all over the lid and then I put a bit of Best Days Of My Life on the outer corner... and then I kind of wet the shadows and re-layered them because this one was a little less pigmented. I think I went in the other corner then with What's My Age Again and Maybe a little bit of Hard Knock Life. Ohhh and I put Enter Sandman on my browbone and inner corner.
This one was a little bit less pigmented than the Spice Up Your Life palette and a little harder to work with... but I was still impressed with the look overall... and I took the pictures in a PF Changs Bathroom... so hopefully they show up well lol.
For the rest of my face I used the Julep Skin Perfecting Foundation, the Hourglass Mood Exposure Blush and the Flower Beauty Galactic Chic on my cheeks and I used the L'oreal Voluminous Mascara.
Hope you guys like these looks! I'm doing more of these... probably at least once a month!
Byeee!
