First Impression Friday: Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Havana Nights
So new first impression! This one is going to be a little different cause I'm not really going to do check ins. It's Christmas Eve and I'm trying out the Ofra Liquid Lipstick in Havana Nights. I'm also wearing the You Glow Girl Highlighter from Ofra also... so I guess we'll see how that holds up too. So this is kind of a double First impression I guess.
So I'm going to mention the application and how it feels first putting it on and then I'll come back later and see how it lasted through Christmas Eve Dinner!
Application
So like most liquid Lipsticks... this isn't that simple to apply. I would recommend a lipliner... I didn't really have one in a color like this. I have a red, but it wasn't quite the same shade, and I really wanted this the way it was. This is a collab with Kathleenlights and I know she has some colourpop lippie sticks and pencils coming out and she has a brown one that I think would look nice with this. It's a browner vampier color, but I think the combo of that lipliner with this lipstick will look really cool.
Anyway yeah, it was a little messy, but it was comfortable. I used the Too Faced Lip Insurance Lip Primer with it because that kind of smoothes the lips nicely and just makes them look really good. And it applied easily over that. It didn't drag or anything, it just went on smoothly and nicely. I've heard this compared to the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams... and the thickness is similar and its probably a similar formula... but this went on nicer for me. It was comfortable and the Nyx ones aren't always that comfortable. It felt nice on. It was a little messy, but nice... and so far so good! I've had a sip of water, nothing has transferred... and its just been good!
Ohhh let me mention the highlighter too because... it is everything. I applied it with a small setting brush thats in an Up and Up set... its amazing. I love it! I would highly recommend... I'm like living for this highlight. Its so gorgeous. Its by the Dupethat girls but its not a dupe! Lol at least so far it isn't. I swatched it next to the Mary Lou-manizer... totally different. Its a lot lighter than any of the Becca ones I have... I just really like it! Let's see if it stays nice and shiny!
Did it Survive Christmas Eve?
Not really. I mean its 9:33 now, there's still some pink on my lips now and it never got uncomfortable or dry on. It was still on really well at like 5-5:30 and I put it on around 2... so that's pretty dang good! I noticed it transferred on my fork while I was eating Pastetsio... which is Greek Mac and Cheese basically. So yummy. I didn't even care about the lipstick transferring. Lol.
As for the highlight... its kind of still on I guess... idk its hard to tell in the lighting... but it looked good and I love it!
Would I buy More ?
Idk. I really love these and if there's another 40% off or higher sale or coupon code... I'd definitely consider. I loved the formula, I love the color and there are other really nice colors in the liquid lipstick range... so if there was a color I really wanted, maybe. Its a great formula... but its probably dupe-able. Idk. I love lipstick... but there are so many good affordable ones that nothing ever knocks me off my socks. This formula was really amazing and it did last a long time and its beautiful... so yes I do think its worth the money, its definitely worth buying, I love it and I'll use it... but I also love Maybelline's Rich Ruby.
And the highlight... yeah. I love it lol. I know they have another color called You Dew You, and thats also gorgeous but I think that will be better for more yellow undertones and I'm cooler... so I think this is the perfect highlight for me. They have refill pan too so if you have a z palette, that might be a good cheaper alternative.
The site itself was really nice. Easy to navigate, I think it seemed like they restock often enough so if you see a color you love, it will be easy to get. And it arrive nicely packaged in the most fun bubble wrap I've ever popped. Its a little box, so its nothing big or bulky that you really need to break down.. and they even put an extra one single bubble in with the highlighter to double-y protect it... which is great because highlighters do break easily!
So overall... yeah I'd probably recommend the brand and there are a few other colors I like from them... I would recommend it. Its not life changing... but its probably going to be my go-to strobe color and my go to red lip. Super nice!
That is it! Hope you guys like it!
Ohhh the lipstick also didn't feather at all, it didn't get on my teeth and I didn't blot it... those are all very important things and that made me kind of like reconsider this lipstick. Lol. Its really nice. If there is a sale or you just want to #treatyoself, I'd recommend it!
Byeeee!
