First Impressions! Dose of Colors Friendcation Palette, Bareminerals Gen Nude Blush, and Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipstick
Hey guys! Sorry for starting the New Year a little late here and being pretty inconsistent on these blogs... but I'm going to try for the rest of the year... or at least for February! Hopefully longer!
Anyway today I kind of unintentionally used some products I've never used before and my look was pretty fantastic... again unintentionally. I don't actually have any pictures of what the makeup looked like... but I have kind of a lot of thoughts!
Friendcation Palette
So... first and foremost- the most exciting thing on this list- the Friendcation Palette! So this is a Dose of Colors collab with Desi and Katy. I think Desi is Desi Perkins... idk who Katy is but I guess she's friends with Desi. I've been following the Youtube Beauty Guru scene for a long time and I still don't understand who Desi Perkins, Chrispy and Lustreluxe are... if someone told me those aren't real people or they were all the same person- I wouldn't know. I've heard their names several times... I'm sure they're beautiful and amazing... but I still don't know who they are. There are lots of beauty gurus... some you just miss.
Anyway now that I've probably insulted whoever Desi and Katy are... let me tell you about how awesome this palette is! The colors in this are really fun and there's a nice mix of some basic matte shades with these super glittery colors.
So when I first felt the glitter I was like "Ehhhhhhhhhh. I don't know." I swatched it in store and loved it which is why I decided to buy it on sale... but when I used it for the first time it felt... cheap? This is a $55 eyeshadow palette and the quality just DID NOT feel up to par. Especially when I dipped in the shade with a fluffy shadow brush. I used Just a Kiss on the lid, then I think I did Girl Bye in the crease and then I used Cheens in the outer corner and crease.
Once I used my finger instead of a brush- the color was just packing on like no one's business... and then when I used the crease colors they blended like a dream. I used the color Basic or So Basic- which is the cream white shade on the browbone and again... really nice. They still felt kind of cheap to me but honestly they lasted all day with my Nars Eyeshadow Primer and I loved them! The darkest color that I used in the outer corner was surprisingly the first to fade... but I might have touched my eye or something by then. It was a long work day!
Bareminerals Blush
So next on my list is a Bareminerals Blush. This is a Gen Nude blush in On The Mauve... which is a cute name! I really like the color of this blush- part of the reason why I got the Holiday Set when it was on sale. I've been using a cream blush that I think I'll talk about tomorrow... but this was my first powder blush in a while and I was impressed. Easy to use, easy to blend and just really nice. It lasted till I got out of work too! So that's especially great!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick
So I used the shade Stargazer from the Pink lipstick set that they came out with a while ago... it lasted really well and it looked super pretty with the rest of my makeup. I had a few comments on the lipstick too- which made me feel nice and confident! I really loved this!
So all in all- I had a good makeup day and I'm really happy about it!
Hope everyone else had a good makeup, hair or just a good day in general!
Bye!
