Style Saturday: Dusters- Wardrobe Essential or Totally Unnecessary???

One piece of fashion that has always kind of puzzled me is the Duster. A duster is basically a very long cardigan sweater or a vest. Okay- The Cardigan ones I've always been a fan of- but the vests have kind of puzzled me... until now.

Okay sooo let me tell you why I was a little skeptical about the vest version of this... it seems so silly to have a sweater if it doesn't have sleeves! How is that going to keep me warm? Isn't a sweater's one job in life to keep a person warm??? What exactly does this no sleeve cardigan think it's doing.

I'll tell you what its doing! It's providing a little extra coverage, layer or texture to an outfit. The dress code where I work is not particularly strict- but sometimes when I wear a tank top or something I want a little bit of extra coverage... but I don't want a heavy sweater or anything- so it's nice to have a little something to just cover up a little bit without really adding any extra warmth.

I also like wearing it just to add a little something to an outfit. A few customers complimented me on the duster- so I kept wearing it even with long sleeved clothes. And it just kind of worked! It just works and it kind of makes everything look a little fancier... It definitely pulls an outfit together.

And I do want to talk a little bit about the cardigan versions of dusters... cause I love those too! I like plain or oatmeal colored ones because they kind of work with fancy outfits... so like in this picture I'm wearing one with a dress at a fancy dress.

I also like the length of it too... it just kind of feels super cozy and it maybe makes me look taller and its just nice.

So I think Dusters are definitely a staple in my wardrobe if it's a cardigan or a vest.

Vests are another style choice I think I need to tackle... soon!

Bye!
