Frizzy Friday: How I Tame My Dry, Tangly Hair.
I've sort of talked about this in my "rediscovered hair gems" post, but I thought I would give a more detailed look at how I've been taming my hair. I have extremely extremely dry hair that usually ends up all tangled up to the point where it's like I have no hair, just a full on tangle. This little strategy has been helping me keep it in order, and I look a little crazy doing it, but it needed to be done. Lol.
So what I do first is take 4 hair ties and separate my hair into different sections and pull them back with the hair ties. I then go to one section, take the hair tie out and spray it with some kind of detangling spray. I had been using the Ouidad Sun Shield leave in spray, but I just ran out. I will be buying another one of these as soon as I possibly can though because this is necessary in moisturizing and detangling my hair. I spray each individual strand and comb through. I usally use three different combs. I have one very wide toothed Ouidad comb, another slightly wide toothed comb and a small comb... That I guess is still more of a wide toothed comb. It's not just like those tiny combs that don't have a handle, it has a handle and the combs are slightly wide toothed but it's still on the smaller side I guess... I don't think one of those tiny combs would work in my hair, but this one is good at getting the tangles at the ends.
I repeat the spray-and-comb on each strand and when I'm done I take all of the hair ties out so that I just have my hair down.
I then go in with two Ouidad products, the Moisture Lock Leave in Conditioner and the Climate Control Gel. I do these in a "rake and shake" motion which is basically just use your fingers and comb through your hair and then shake it and let the curls fall into place.
When I go to bed I sleep in pigtails so that I can avoid getting more tangles. I use the cloth hair ties instead of the regular ones because these don't dent my hair or pull at them or anything. It's just easy to tie up and leave in.
And I've been having much better hair days since starting this process. It only takes a few minutes too, even though it sounds long and complicated when I explain it. It's quick and easy and it works.
Ohhh I also usually use the Loreal total repair 5 extrordinary oil to make sure it gets a little extra moisture and so no ends are sticking up or anything like that!
Hopefully this helps some other girl with half-tangle hair problems. Lol.
BYEEEE!
