The BEST Drugstore Makeup
Alright- today's Thrifty Thursday is going to be exciting... I'm going to talk about ALL of the best drugstore makeup that exists. I have something for every category I think except for brows...so let's get right into it.
Primer
Primer kind of depends on what your skin is like and I know a lot of people have trouble with different ingredients in primers. I have been using the Revlon Photoready Rose Glow hydrating and illuminating primer. Not every oil primer does a good job actually priming- but this one really does a great job. This looks nice with my matte foundations that don't particularly look that good on me. This works for my dry skin and I just like it a lot!
Honorable Mentions- the Maybelline Master Stuido primers are really good, Milani has good primers too I like their prime light primer... and I like the Elf Illuminating putty primer- i've heard their poreless putty primer is great too. And for eye primers the Elf Putty Eye Primer and the Milani eye primer are good. I think the Elf one works a little bit better for me.
Foundation
One I'd love to try again is the L'oreal Truematch Lumi Foundation. I haven't used this in years, but I've seen pictures of myself wearing the foundation and it just looked very good and luminous on my dry skin. I really like how it looked and I'll have to try it again whenever I can go into a store and pick it out.
Ulta Brand has a lot of great foundations too and they have one for every skin concern. I like the stick foundation and the soft focus foundation... their oil foundation isn't my favorite but it's still okay... I probably wouldn't repurchase that one but I would probably repurchase the stick foundation.
Flower Beauty Light Illusion Luminous foundation is just my favorite overall. It looks so so so good on my skin and it just works really really well. I haven't used this one as much but it's really good.
I haven't tried this in a while but the Maybelline Superstay Matte Foundation is great for oily skin I would think. It lasts forever and it's mattifying but I can still use it too. I like that one!
Cheeks
The Butter Bronzer is really the only one I use that's currently available and easy to get... it's a great bronzer, no glitter in it- it's just nice to bronze and sculpt a little. All of the Butter Products I'd recommend- the Highlights are like the colourpop ones and those are great and the blushes are super pretty too.
The Elf Contour palette is the easiest way to contour with something from the drugstore. I love it- I don't contour much anymore... but I might now that I have to wear a mask lol.
The Covergirl Cheekers and instant cheekbones are great. I like the Instant Cheekbones because those have a little bit of a highlighter in there too. It's great for beginners because it gives 2 blush options and a highlight and I really like that!
Wet n Wild also has some awesome highlighters. I have one of the Gold Bar ones that I like about- I think I have their mermaid one and their Libra or astrology one... plus I have a palette they used to have that I've been using recently. this is awesome.
The Solstice Highlight palette from Sleek is one of the best- I was looking for that EVERYWHERE for my look I did for tuesday but I couldn't find it... still can't find it but hopefully it turns up because this one was my favorite a long time ago!!!
The Milani Luminoso Glow Highlight palette is amazing. I've talked about this one a lot- but it is perfect and I love it! Milani Baked blushes are great too.
I also love my colourpop super shock cheek highlighters... I have talked about those a lot so you might have heard me talk about them already but I love them.
I could probably go on and on here... but let's get to eyes!
Eyes
So first I'll start with Mascara- the Essence I heart Extreme Curl and Volume might be my favorite... I feel like maybe I like the L'oreal Lash Paradise or something else butter- but this is the one I've tried more recently that I think I like the most so... that's why this is the only one on the list. Also I lied before when I said the only one I don't have a favorite for is Brows- I also don't use False Lashes... so just those 2 things.
Okay now palettes. My favorite one is the Flower Beauty Wanderlust palette in Austin Downtown Dusk... this is a really unique palette- I feel like I haven't seen these colors in a palette and they're just so good and the formula is amazing. I really love Flower Beauty- I don't love the other wanderlust palette I got from them as much... but I do have one of their all in one palettes that is very good also.
Maybelline has good palettes too. My favorite is the Nudes of New York palette. This has like a warm side and a cool side and it's one of the easiest drugstore palettes I have to come up with looks for. I also really love their city mini 5 pan palettes- those are super nice and easy to use. And the Matte Bar Palette is great!
The Milani Palettes are really good too! The older palettes like the Most Loved Mattes and the Bold Obsessions are great- I loved these when I first got it!
The new Elf Bite Sized Eyeshadow Palettes are so easy and so nice to use. Their $3 so I can't not recommend them... they're the best bang for your buck.
And of corse Revolution Beuaty has some great products too. They start at $7 usually but they're great.
I also really like Colourpop's palettes. These are really nice and usually easy to use.
For Eyeliner I like Colourpop and Physician's formula. I've only tried colourpop's retractable pencil liners- but for Physician's formula I've tried their retractable pencils and their liquid liners and they're both really nice and easy to use! Nyx also has some good pencil liners! I like any nude type of liner... I think Nyx and Colourpop have the best ones... I should try those again!
Lips
I like pretty much any maybelline lipsitck. The Superstay Matte Ink Crayons and Liquid lipsticks are probably the longest lasting lipsticks at the drugstore. I really love how these look and they're very nice and easy for me to wear at work. They have a nice color selection too.
I also love the "For Me" Line. They have Pink for Me, Mauve For Me, Spice for Me, Plum For Me, Ruby for Me and another one that I'm not sure of. I don't see these on Ulta's Website... but I hope they still have them! I really like the formula of these.
L'oreal has Matte Glosses and they're really good too. I don't use these a lot anymore... but I like them a lot. They're comfortable and easy to reapply and they last pretty well too.
For lip liners I like Colourpop and Essence. Ulta Brand is good too- those are similar to the colourpop eyeliners... but they're really good.
Powder
So I'm really not an expert... I use the No 7 powder for loose powder... which I do like. It's very messy and I don't know if I'd repurchase but it's good.
Milani also has a good powder... I think they have a luminous one and a matte one.
Setting Spray
The Milani Make It Last is the one that I think actually makes it last. I also like the Ulta Brand Watermelon Facial Mist and the Ulta Brand sunscreen mist. These are just really nice.
Hope you guys like this! I might try to break it down and do an "If I could only keep one" on youtube and maybe I'll post a look using all of my favorite favorites... but they're really great. I love these and I wanted to give a lot of options!
Bye!
