Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation and Powder Review

So I got this foundation a little while ago and I heard some good and some bad things about it... So I thought I'd test it out for myself and see if it was any good or not. I didn't actually have high hopes for this... But I was really excited about it for some reason so I wanted to buy it. Probably because it's so cute and pink and Katy Perry is the spokesperson... I guess the Ads for this were just really good cause I was skeptical and I bought it anyway. Lol.

For a little frame of reference, I have dry skin. Covergirl in general caters to more oily skin. I found the Covergirl outlast stay fabulous foundation a little too matte for my skin... I loved the longwearing nature of it but during the winter my skin was just too dry and it would cling to my dry patches and not look cute. So far I've been impressed because this does not cling anywhere on my skin where I don't want it too.

I actually think this foundation gives a really nice and natural looking coverage. It's super easy to blend in with your fingers... It would probably work really well with any sort of blender sponge or a foundation brush also. It's kind of liquidy. I think compared to the Loreal truematch Lumi it is a bit more liquidy but I don't think that's a bad thing. It doesn't come off completely matte on the skin, but it isn't like Dewey or anything either. This could be good for dry or oily skin because it gives more of a satin finish.

One thing I kind of don't love about this foundation is that I don't think it looks that good with a lot of primers I use. This isn't that much of a problem... But I feel like if I could use a primer there would be a little more longevity to this foundation and it would last a little better. I'm still doing my battle of the primers, so I will probably talk more about that there, but I do really like the way it looks with my Maybeline Babyskin primer. That is so far the only primer I have liked with this.

And the powder I like a lot too. I don't have much experience with powder because I do have dry skin, but it is a nice step to take anyway because it does make the foundation last a little longer and stay looking nice. This isn't super mattifying, but on occasions where I do get oily, I have this in my purse because I know it gets the job done. It also does a good job at making all other cheek products blend together... Like you know when you have on a bunch of powder products and it looks kind of unnatural and weird? I thought using a powder on top of it would make it look even worse, but it sort of defuses it and makes a blush, Bronzer and highlight sort of come together and look like a nice little team to make your face look better. Lol. I've used this over the foundation on its own, and I've used it with my Nyx Dewey finish setting spray and it all works together. I haven't tried this as a powder foundation yet... I'm a little scared to, it is marketed as a powder foundation but it works fine as a loose powder as well.

I know this collection has a concealer also, I haven't tried that though. I'm a bit picky with my concealers and more often then not, I just use foundation under my eyes to cover things up a bit.

I would say definitely buy this foundation. It may actually be on par with my Rimmel Stay Matte. I think I do like it more than the Loreal truematch. I would repurchase any of these foundations, but I've been reaching for this one quite a lot lately.

Alrighty that is it for this review. Let me know if there are any other products you'd like me to review. I hauled a Nyx butter gloss a little while ago and some of Icings eyeshadows... Let me know if you're interested in a fuller review of them. Cause I like them, but I could definitely go into more detail if you wish!
