Drugstore Lip Reviews! Maybeline Color Blur, L'oreal La Laque + More

Heyyy guys! I know I just mentioned I bought a bunch of lipsticks, some are brand new, some are LTD and some are older but new to me so I thought I'd mention... But I want to mainly focus on the Maybeline Color Blurs.

These Maybelline Color Blurs are absolutely awesome. They seem a little gimmicky because of the packaging, but trust me they are awesome. They're in a pencil type of form with a smudger at the end, There are 10 colors, I picked up 2 because I really liked 2 of them and I had a good feeling about this product. Lol. I have Pink Insanity and My My Magenta. These look pretty much exactly how they do on the tube. The My My Magenta can kind of be built up to a fuller opacity or made darker... but the Pink one is exactly like how it looks. These are totally matte, the pencil type applicator is really precise so it makes it easy to apply. They do break off and wear down... which I'll get to, but it is pretty easy to apply. These aren't exactly the most comfortable, but I wore mine all night without a lip balm all night and my lips weren't killing me at all the entire night. Also did I mention... ALL NIGHT? These are the longest wearing lipstick I have! I ate lunch and dinner and barely had to reapply these at all. So yeah... I want some more shades.

There are a few cons though. The smudger is slightly gimmicky... but it kind of serves a purpose. It kind of helps fill in the lines a little bit. It does get messy though, so I would clean it after each use because it the color can get on other surfaces. These are also retractable, which is cool... but the retractable part is on the bottom part with the smudger at the end... and this is kind of user err... but I didn't remember that and I put the cap on without twisting it back down... so it broke off. Wouldn't be an issue... but it did get on my clothes and I think on my carpet... so thats a thing. But yeah.

Similarly designed, the L'oreal La Laque! I have this in Laquey charm, and I quite like this color! Its a good everyday color, it would work with a lot of different people. They also have the Le Matte colors and the La Laque, the La Laques have a bit of shimmer in it. And its not really uncomfortable or anything like that. I could maybe feel the glitters a little bit, but it wasn't uncomfortable. It wasn't incredibly long wearing... but its easy to apply. Its the same pencil form as the Maybeline Color Blurs, but with no confusing smudger at the end. Also the Shimmer makes your lips look nice and plump. I got complimented on my lipcolor when I wore it, and I really liked it! The only con is the smell... I never tried a L'oreal lip product before... I heard they smelled bad... it doesn't smell great. But its not really that noticeable on the lips... so yeah.

Back to Maybeline I mentioned that I recently picked up a Color Elixer in the shade Rebellious Raspberry, which is limited edition and I really liked the formula. There was another one that was on clearance at target called Captivating Carnation. These feel nice on the lips and they're pretty long wearing. They don't last through eating and stuff, but they last a while. They kind of feel heavy after having them on for a while, but they never feel dry or anything like that. They feel nice. The color is really pigmented, they aren't all that sticky. The Applicator is pretty nice and gets it on precisely. The smell is a little strong but not bad... and yeah. I like these a lot. I especially like the Captivating Carnation... I think that'd be good on everyone for everyday where... it works with any look... and its just really nice. I like these, want to try more... kinda wish I tried them sooner!

And I have 2 more Maybeline Lipsticks here. One in the Rebel Bloom Collection and it is Tangy Tulip. This is a very wearable orange that is great for summer... but its also subdued enough to wear kind of everyday. The formula goes on really creamy and it feels really nice. Again, not incredibly longwearing, but I don't mind! That makes it a bit more comforable for everyday use. Its a good color and a nice formula. I kind of like the smell of Maybeline lipsticks, this smells a little better though I'd say. I like it!

And then I have the 100 years lipstick from their Color Sensational line. This one is called Berry Chic and its a bit of a weird color I guess. The bottom looks pretty purple, when you open up the tube it looks very dark... but on the lips its a little lighter, so its pretty wearable. Its not so wearable that if you have a colorful lip it would look good... but its wearable if you have a neutral look and just want a little extra for the lips, this is good for that! The formula is pretty much the same as the Rebel Bloom. I know the Rebel Bloom is made with honey nectar and different ingredients... but they go on similarly, the finish is pretty similar. I haven't worn this out at all, but I wouldn't expect it to be really long wearing... but it probably isn't drying or terrible on the lips. I don't think I have a big problem with these getting on my teeth or anything either... which always seems to happen with Covergirl products. These are nice though and feel pretty nice on the lips.

And that is it! I definitely recommend Maybeline Lipsticks in general... definitely want to check out more of... all of these formulas basically! I'd definitely recommend the Color Blurs especially. The L'oreal La Laque was good too, I know not everyone okay with the shimmery lip formula... but I think these look subtle and just give your lips a nice plump look.
