Empty/ Expired Foundations and Primers: Would I repurchase???
So I have a sort of Empties post. Its specifically foundations that are either old and expired and almost used up or totally used up.
So first is the one I've totally used up the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream... I've mentioned this a bunch before and it is my favorite discontinued product. I need to find something that compares to this. I have back ups that I got at Big Lots... personally I love this stuff, but I can see why its discontinued. This is very light coverage, you can build it, but its still going to look very light on. It also only came in like 3 different colors... and there are wayy more than 3 different skin tones. The darkest was pretty dark I think, but I still think it would only work for medium skin tones and thats not cool. I think if it had been a super popular product than maybe some more shades would have been released... but obviously it wasn't lol. If you see this at Big Lots its like $5 if you're into light coverage BB Creams then check it out. If you aren't than it probably isn't life changing for you... but its so easy to work with... but for me it was life changing. I might do a post on how I use this, I know that isn't that useful now that this is discontinued, but there are other light coverage BB Creams, tinted moisturizers and foundations that I'm sure these tricks would work well for. I know a lot of people don't like these products cause its kind of like "well how do I use these and get coverage from them" but there are ways and I feel like it might help. People might like these more if they use them differently. Idk.
Now onto something I wouldn't repurchase... The Benefit Porefessional! I didn't love this! I know I'm the only one, maybe I don't know how to use this... but I just didn't notice much of a difference in my pores. It wasn't terrible, I used it up almost completely, but it just didn't work that well for me and I have a drugstore version thats better...
The Maybelline Babyskin! This worked a little better at blurring my pores I think and this is a little more hydrating, which is good for my dry skin. I didn't notice a huge difference and there are better primers out there. If you have dry skin and pores I think this is a better option... but I don't think I'll repurchase any time soon just because I have other primers that are all better. And I think Powders work better for me for blurring pores. Primers never made much of a difference with that for me at least.
And I think I only have one more primer that is totally used up the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer. I loved using this with the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream actually! This gave a great finish to it, I pretty much just liked it for that. I think I will repurchase this now that I'm using the Olay Fresh Effects more... I do have the Covergirl Outlast primer, which is similar... but it doesn't make it look that matte. I like the Covergirl primer with the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation more, but I think this rimmel primer is best with the BB Cream... So yeah.
And I have 2 foundations that have expired and now they're a little oxidized. I liked these both and I think I will repurchase them. The Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous and the L'oreal Truematch Lumi foundation. The L'oreal one I don't think totally matched me all year. I got a Warm one that looked the lightest... but I have cooler undertones... so yeah. It matched well for a while I think, I saw older pictures of myself where I'm wearing this foundation and they look great. I really like the way it looks. Idk what color I am year round... but this is something I would likely repurchase.
And the Covergirl one I really liked. I think this is a nice full coverage foundation for dry skin. Its pretty matte but its never completely matte. It rarely looks cakey on me... honestly this may be my favorite foundation. I think its oxidized a little since I've had it over a year... but I think this is pretty good. I'm 105 in the Covergirl and I think I picked whatever warm shade was the lightest for the L'oreal. Lol.
Hope this was helpful and informative! I just realized now that I pretty much used up most of these products and some of them were really old even if I did have another use or two out of them.
And now, all the foundations I have from not that long ago I seem to be using up quicker than I was using these other ones... so I think I will use them before they go bad... so yeah! Lol.
Byeee! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
