Weekly Favorites: 11/16/15

So I wanted to post my Sephora Haul when the Sephora Sale was still going on, so I didn't want to post a Monday Musts... but I still wanted to post my weekly favorites cause I have my faves. Makes sense right? Right. Lol.

1) Lorac Unzipped Palette- I put a review on the Lorac Unzipped set up recently and I have really been loving the Unzipped Palette. I think I mentioned in that that it would be a little bit harder to do a 5 minute look with this than my beloved Lorac Pro 2 palette... but I think I've found a fast, easy look for this palette as well that I like just as much and I'll probably show soon. It actually might be in my Faces of The Week post... but I think I did an even quicker look than that that I like even better... so I'll be sharing that too! Lol.

2) Too Faced Shadow Insurance in Candlelight- So last week I mentioned that I really like the Rose Gold cream shadow from Ulta underneath the Lorac Unzipped Palette and that is still true. I love that shadow and it goes really well with it. The Shadow Insurance formula is really great for eyeshadows with more fallout because it really locks it into place really really nicely. I forgot how much I like these with the Lorac eyeshadows... I need to start using these a little more again. I kind of like them more than the Urban Decay Primer Potion... Which is amazing.

3) Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream- This is my favorite BB Cream. Its discontinued, I think you can still find it at Big Lots for $5... but I've been loving it this week. I have dry skin and this is just a nice, light coverage BB Cream that is just perfect for me for everyday use. This is a little bit tricky to use as I think a lot of products like this are... but once you get it right it gets pretty easy to use. I think I'm going to do a look where I show how I make this work. This also looks nice if you like contouring because it doesn't look too heavy or anything. Its just something that works well for me. On Thanksgiving I have a post with some more detail about this product in it... so this isn't the last I have of this product... but yeah.

4) Elf Mist and Set- This was one of my favorites last week and I still really love it this week! I feel like even drugstore Setting Sprays are so expensive... and this does the same thing as those and it's only $3. It also isn't bulky or anything. I just really like it. Its not quite as good as the L'oreal... but it does pretty much the same thing for $3... so I'm more likely to repurchase this than the L'oreal I think! I'm curious to try the new ones that they have also!

5) Essence Lip Liner in Wish Me a Rose+ Lorac Alter Ego Lipstick in Girl Next Door and Nars Turkish Delight Lipgloss- This is a high maintenance and mostly a high end lip combo. I mentioned in my Lorac review that I wasn't crazy about the Alter Ego lipstick that came with the set... I'm pretty sure the name is called Girl Next door, I'll check and update if it isn't... but its a nice color and you can kind of work with if you know how to work with things. Its like the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream. You have to sort of know how to work with things to use them... which is usually why I give so many things more positive reviews. I can figure out how to work with trickier products... so thats a good skill to have. I think I'm going to do more posts about how to work with tricky products, like what I think I'm going to do with the Olay Fresh Effects too... but yeah.

Basically I line my lips with the lip liner, and any light pink lip liner will do, I happen to like the Essence liners... but whatever your favorite. Then I use a lip brush to get a little bit of color from the lipstick because it does apply patchy... then I kind of dab it on a little bit and kind of blur it out and then I put the Nars Turkish Delight on the whole lip or the center of the lip. This is hard to do... but it makes my lips look nice and full and the color is pretty and it lasts a long time. It is a little drying, but it doesn't feel all that bad.

So I honestly don't think I can really recommend this lipstick still just because it is hard to work with... but if you are patient and you don't mind going through these extra steps for the color... this is just what I've been liking this week. It basically looks the same as something Like Melted Peony... but whatever. Lol. I find this wears a little longer.

6) Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Perfume- Someone did a little splurgin' during the Sephora Sale! Lol. So I've only had this since Friday... but its fantastic. It lasts a long time and just smells good on me. I know this perfume is not anything new, but I had never tried it before the point perk and it is pretty amazing. I got the gift set with the smaller size of the fragrance, the rollerball, which is the same size as the point perk and the perfume oil. It comes in a nice box and this would make a great gift... but I think this would be a tricky fragrance to gift. I can see Nirvana White and Nirvana Black not being everyone's cup of tea. And I think even if someone does love it... their significant other might not love it. It just seems like a tricky one. I saw on youtube 2 girls that said their husbands didn't like the scents and I was kind of like "... should I maybe not get this? I'm single I don't want to drive men away." Lol. Hopefully Ed Sheeran likes this scent because I'm thinking we should get together. Lol.

7) Nail Combo: Color Club Red and Butter London Shag- I almost forgot about my nail combo! I didn't take a picture and this is wearing off a little bit, but I think I'm going to re-paint my nails tonight and use the same combo. Basically I took a Color Club Red Shade... I don't remember the name it was in their holiday collection last year and its honestly one of my favorite colors... and I put that on my Pink, ring and middle finger and then I put Butter London's Shag on my thumb and index finger... and I really like it. The Red is much darker than Shag, but together they look really similar and had enough of a subtle difference to really make it look great and different. I ended up really liking this combo. I might switch it up and do more fingers with Shag than the color club color... but I'll try to do that and take a pic!

I think that is everything! I hope you guys liked this and I should have more of this and more reviews to come soon!

Byeee!
