Holiday Hunting: Kohls
So I went to Kohls the other day... and again I wasn't really planning on looking at too many of their holiday sets... I didn't swatch a ton... but they did have a lot of stuff... so I thought why not do one of these Holiday Hunting posts and let you guys know.
The Balm
So the Balm has the new The Balm of Your Hand Palette... I really want this. I've never tried anything from the balm, this looks like the perfect travel all in one palette. I've wanted it since I knew it existed. I was in line to buy this... but the line was long, I got frustrated my parents were shopping in the same complex and they were ready to go... and its a nice palette and everything... but I don't think its worth 39.50. And I know that is a pretty good value for a palette... I just don't like paying full price for anything. I've only ever paid full price for like 3 palettes that I have... lol. The Balm's website does flash sales on their website from time to time... I'm thinking of maybe holding out and doing that, it might go on haute look for half off... I could use Kohl's cash for it... so I couldn't really justify paying the full $40 for it. It swatched nicely... but I have a lot of palettes right now and it was nothing incredible... so I'm going to wait until its half off or if I get Kohls cash... which I might soon... and then I'll get it.
They also do have a set with the Manizer sisters... I didn't see this at my Kohl's but I think this is a great value. Had they had the Manizer sisters, I may have just bought both that and the Balm of your hand palette because I had a $10 off of $50 coupon for beauty, plus they were giving $10 in Kohl's cash... so that's cool... but no. They didn't have it and no one was helping me to find it... so I wasn't very happy. Lol.
They also had a set of their Mr. Write Now Eyeliners for like 30 something dollars I believe. This is a Kohl's exclusive, so you can't find it anywhere else. It seems like a good value. I don't use eyeliner all that much to have a set of it, liner bothers my eyes sometimes... so its something I don't do a lot. I've also heard these are a little drying... so I didn't want to buy a set of something I've heard not great reviews on.
Lorac
There are already a ton of great Lorac sets and pretty much everywhere that has Lorac has some sort of exclusive value set... so keep the look out for those!
They had one set that had the Lorac Pro 2 palette and I believe it came with a few full size items and it was the same price as the Lorac Pro 2. I'd highly recommend that. I love the Lorac Pro 2 palette... its one of my go-tos and its just a good value to get some full sized extras for the same price... and it might have just been a mascara... but still. Meh.
There is also a lip gloss set for $25 with a bunch of full size lip products. They have this at Ulta also with a slightly different color selection. I think this is a great value. I think the Kohl's one had more pops of colors and Ulta's had more neutral ones. I think I liked Ulta's a little better... but both were beautiful selections and that is an awesome value.
There was also a set with their regular lipsticks and their matte pencil thingys. Those were also full sized and a little more expensive than the lipgloss set... I didn't love the Lorac Lipstcik that came in the Unzipped Cheeks palette... so idk if I would recommend those. I'm sure the other formulas are better... it just didn't work for me.
I think there were other sets with mascaras and eyeliners and things like that.. these kind of interest me... didn't pick any up. I feel like these are risky cause usually there is probably something you won't love... idk. It just seems risky to me. Lol. I want to try more Lorac products though since I was so impressed with their cheek products and no one talks about Lorac besides their eyeshadows and I think they deserve a little more love. They are a good brand.
Cargo
Cargo had a lip set thingy... I've never heard anything about Cargo lipsticks... so I didn't try it... but it was in such pretty packaging that it would make an amazing gift. I think it was all full sized and in the $30 price range... it might have been $39... but still not bad.
Real Techniques
There's a really nice Real Techniques holiday brush set that I think is $30. It has some limited edition brushes and some brushes you can get in their regular line. It doesn't have anything I don't have in it... all of it looked really nice too... I may get this one, I think I'm going to hold out and get it at Harmon cause then its 20% off, which is great. I'm still really wanting the Tarte Brush set! I may order it at Macy's or Tarte's website... idk. Lol. Sonia Kashuk also usually has a nice brush set. This is a good time for brushes pretty much.
Stocking Stuffers
These sets are mostly things you can open up and give as stocking stuffers for a lot of friends. The lip sets, the liner sets... all of these would be good for stocking stuffers... but Kohls also has a lot of nail polishes and some mini items. They have Essie and OPI. They have regular Real Techniques brushes, which would be a good stocking stuffer. They have Bliss mini hand creams, EOS Lip balms and travel sizes of their shaving cream which I've never seen before! There was a lot where you could get stocking stuffers.
Fragrance
They also have a lot of celebrity fragrances and gift sets for those. I've purchased 2 fragrances recently and I'm thinking of getting some rollerballs when Ulta does the free robe... Just cause I like using that as an excuse to try some rollerballs. Lol.
That is everything notable! Hope you guys like Holiday hunting and stop and Kohls! They have nice clothes and they had a ton of
