31 Days of Beauty: Recommendations and HG products
So on Tati's app every once and a while there will be a 31 days of Beauty challenge and it seemed fun and seemed like an easy Sunday post... so I'm posting it today!
Day 1: Daily Makeup Products
I usually change my foundation and blush and stuff... but the things pretty much consistent are the Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer, Benefit Erase Paste concealer, Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Concealer, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Elf Undereye setting powder, Bareminerals Mineral Veil Powder... which is a pretty new edition, L'oreal's Infallible Setting Spray and the Ulta Amped Lashes Mascara. I do switch my mascara often... but this one is kind of my favorite and I will go back to it. Not pictured is the Ulta Rain Coat Topcoat Waterproof Mascara topcoat. This works really well and I like it a lot.
Day 2: Manicure Monday
This is actually from a Wednesday. But I used Essence's Gel polish in Amazed By You and the Pop Arazzi nail polish in Going for Gold. I love the Essence formulas. They are the best. The Pop Arazzi is a little hard to apply... but I still really like the color and they look nice together.
Day 3: Favorite Foundation
I have dry skin and I really like the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin. It looks nice and natural on and doesn't look clingy or cakey on. I like it a lot.
Day 4: Favorite Primer
Too Faced Hangover RX Primer! It makes my face feel nice and moisturized and smooth and just makes my makeup look better. Plus its cute and it smells like coconut and it has a pump! This stuff is just awesome!
Day 5: Favorite Concealer
Its kind of a combo of the Benefit Erase Paste and the Maybelline Superstay Better skin... but if I had to pick one probably the Erase Paste. It just works so well, and it comes with a ton of product! I've had this for quite some time and I'm just kind of making a dent in it... so that's pretty cool. I definitely think its worth the $26 or however much it is. I use it all the time for blemishes and under eyes.
The maybelline one I do have to say though works well on blemishes because I really do think it makes the skin a little bit better. Whenever I apply it to a blemish, the blemish usually goes down quite a lot the next day, so this is kind of a hidden gem... even though I think people do really like this product. I'm pretty picky with my concealers too, so I'll probably just end up sticking with these two for as long as they're available. Lol.
Day 6: Favorite Blush
I've been loving the Lorac Unzipped Cheek Palette, particularly the shade Underrated. This is a really nice matte blush that lasts all day and looks really pigmented and goes on really easily. This palette is just a good value and I like it a lot.
Day 7: Favorite Bronzer
This is tough... I don't wear bronzer that often and I kind of want to get the Too Faced Little Black Book of Bronzers, which is on sale and Nordstrom Rack now and I'm sure will be available on haute look and stuff in the near future... and I'm sure all of those Glowy and blushy bronzers are awesome... but I don't have that... lol. I'm going to go with Benefit's Hoola because its one of those products that never lets me down. Its good for warming the face, its good for contouring. Its just a great one and done bronzer.
I also like the Elf contour palette a lot and that has a nice bronzer in it too that blends easily and looks nice with the contour. I like adding a bronzy color over a contour cause it looks less harsh that way and it just looks pretty.
Day 8: Favorite Eyeshadow
My favorite right now is probably the Ulta Cream Shadow in Rose Gold. I've been using it a lot and I just really like it. I don't use Cream Shadows a ton... but I've been getting some good use from this! I like it a lot too, highly recommend!
Day 9: Favorite Palette
Too Faced Star Dust by Vegas Nay palette. This is an amazing palette, I love the colors inside, I think for $45 this is a great deal. These are all really pigmented and nice. I've created a lot of really pretty looks with this palette. The shades are all really great and pigmented and just really unique. There are probably lots of other colors in my collection like this, but this would be what I reach for first. Love this stuff! Even for the palette alone, this is gorgeous. I almost didn't get it... but I'm really happy I did. I just really like it!
Day 10: Favorite Mascara
Without a doubt the Ulta brand Amped Lashes mascara in the Volume and Defining version. I think this is really great, I decided to go back to the L'oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara... don't like it compared to this one. It's $10 at Ulta, they always have buy 2 get 2 free or deals where you can get a lot of stuff free with purchase. It's just really good! I highly recommend.
Day 11: Favorite Eyeliner
Alrighty I'm going to give 3 options here because... there are 3 different kinds of eyeliners you could possibly get... Maybe more... but these are the 3 most people use and I do have a favorite above all else... but I don't want to ignore the others...
So I'll start with the others first cause that makes sense right? For liquid liner I like the Stila Stay All Day. I don't use liquid liner... ever really but this one is really easy to use and it stays good for a while. I feel like I still have mine... Idk. This is just the most precise for me and easiest to use.
For gel liner, which I've just started using I like the Ulta Brand version. I find this easy to use and its creamy and I'm really getting the hang of it, so I like it.
But my favorite of all is the Rimmel Scandal Eyes pencil liners cause these are just the best. My favorite is the Nude one, which I don't have right now of corse. They have all sorts of great colors and the formula is really good, long wearing and easy to apply... and it doesn't hurt. And its super affordable!
Day 12: Favorite Brow Products
I don't use brow products! I have naturally thick brows, so I don't use any brow products because if I use anything they just look way too bold. I've filled them in a few times in my life... but not that often. I do like brow brushes though. In the I On Beauty Brush Set they have a really nice brow comb that I like a lot. I brush them and every once and a while I'll even spray the brush with a dry shampoo to give it a little more hold... but other than that, not a brow person.
Ohhh and tweezers. Ulta has good tweezers during the holidays, they look like ladies. Those are good. Avon has good ones. I don't use any fancy ones, you don't really have to... its just a thing to remove hair... I've never had bad luck with any. Lol.
Day 13: Skincare Products
It asks pretty much all my favorite skincare products in here anyway... so I don't really see why they put this in here. Lol. I guess this is kind of a filler. I think for this I'll just write my favorite face exfoliators and then for Day 19 when it asks favorite Exfoliators, I'll do body exfoliator. Lol.
So for my face I use the Garnier Charcoal Scrub. I love this for exfoliating, its a little too harsh for my chin... but I still like it a lot. This is great. I also love the Origins Charcoal Mask just as much as the Origins Drink Up Mask... maybe I even like it more... but I use the Drink Up one more... so spoilers... that's going to be my favorite mask.
Day 14: Favorite Moisturizer
I love the Elf Night Cream for my night moisturizer along with the Tarte Maricuja Oil.
Day 15: Favorite Hand Cream
I've tried a lot of hand creams... I think the Gold Bond Aloe lotion. I love this lotion in general but I NEVER buy it because of the packaging. The hand cream has great packaging though and it smells and feels really nice. The smell just makes me really happy. I like it a lot!
Day 16: Favorite Lip Balm
The Vaseline lip balm tubs are probably my favorite... and the Chapstick Hydration stick... but I feel like the Vaseline is the best. I think the original actually works the best... but I also love the Rose and the Creme Brûlée tastes the best.
Day 17: Favorite Face Wash
I really dig the Purity Face Cleanser. I feel like this is good for Combo skin, I just really like it. It removes all makeup from your face and my face has gotten a lot better since I started using it over the summer... so I like it a lot.
Day 18: Favorite Exfoliator
Okay since I already mentioned the skincare ones the Bath and Body Works Shea Sugar Scrub is amazing. They don't always carry this formula, I think right now they only have it in their fall scents... maybe the christmas scents also... idk but it is amazing. I don't love the way it smells because its very very strong and even though I like the scent of the Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte flavor they have... this was a bit much. I'm sure they'll have these during the Semi Annual Sale... you need it in your life. Its really good.
Day 19: Favorite Mask
The Origins Drink Up intensive overnight mask is probably my favorite. Its just a great moisturizer and I really like it a lot. Its been a good skin saver on many occasions.
Day 20: Favorite Perfume
I just got Elizabeth and James Nirvana White and I really love it. Its a very flowery feminine smell, I love the sleek packaging and it just smells so good. I had a rollerball for a while and loved it and now I have the full size and its awesome.
Day 21: Favorite Makeup Brand
I have to go with both Too Faced and Tarte. I really can't choose one over the other. I just like them both, I feel like Too Faced more people would be able to find something that they like from... but tarte is really good too. And lately I've been loving Lorac. And I love Elf for drugstore! So many good ones!
Day 22: Favorite Nail Polish Brand
Essence! Essence gel polishes are my favorite. They're so affordable, and I have some from Butter London and those are lovely colors, but they don't stay on my nails. These stay on my nails and I just think they're awesome.
Day 23: Favorite Skincare Brand
I have no idea... lol. I use so many different brands and they're all good. Freeman masks are great, Origins masks are great. Purity by philosophy has really changed my face. Tarte Maricuja Oil is really good. I'm a fan of the Elf skincare products I've tried. Simple is good... just so many good ones. Lol.
Day 24: One Makeup Item You Can't Live Without
This is tough... I'm going to say the Ulta Amped Lashes Mascara because I just love that and its kind of a forever repurchase type of thing.
Day 25: One Skincare Item You Can't Live Without
Probably the Purity Face Cleanser. I just can't get enough of that, I feel like it's really changed my skin and I just really like it.
Day 26: Favorite Hair Prodcuts
The Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave in Conditioner, Climate Control and Curl Defining hair soufflé. I also love the L'oreal Evercreme moisture system nourishing leave in spray and the One N Only Argan Oil. All underrated HG products for me!
Day 27: Favorite Youtubers
EmilyNoel83 is my favorite. She's super helpful and I always get great recommendations from her. Her reviews are the absolute best! I also like Tati aka Glamlifeguru, Coffeebreakwithdani does great reviews because even if its a product she doesn't like... she's really fair about it. ReadySetGlamour is great, she has similar skin issues as me... so if she likes a foundation I will pick it up... and lately I've been finding Jacklyn Hills videos very helpful also. Her tips are really great and I feel like she does all these super super glamorous looks... but she explains it easily so its good to recreate. And Jessica Murphy from JamBeauty89... she has great drugstore reviews and is more focused on affordable products...
Laura88Lee, Mrs.LolaLynn, the beautybuzzhub... there are lots of really great you tubers I'm sure I'm forgetting... but these are sort of top of my head, who I've been watching a lot of lately and who I've been taking advice from I guess. BailyB too... her reviews are great and quick!
Day 28: Favorite Bloggers
Nouveau Cheap is definitely my favorite. She has all the info on sales, drugstore products, how to get high end products for a really affordable price... she's just all around awesome especially if you like a deal!
I also like My Beauty Bunny, they're a cruelty free blog, so they will have reviews on all cruelty free products and will sort of educate you more on those products... which I love. I try to use Cruelty Free products a lot... so they're good for that.
Day 29: Disappointing Products
I wasn't wowed by the Benefit Pore-fessional. Didn't do much for me, I prefer powders for pore minimizing I guess instead of a primer. I also didn't find the Make Up Academy Metals Palette very easy to use either... but I think I should work with that one more.
Day 30: What's in Your Beauty Bag?
I just did a drugstore Thanksgiving look for this blog, so I tend to keep items I'm using for a look in the beauty bag... so a majority of what I used for that look. Which I will try to remember to link... lol.
Day 31: Makeup Collection.
That would take kind of a while... so I'll show pictures. I have half my desk filled with makeup and I have a drawer by my bed filled with some things too... lol. But brands I have a lot of... Elf, Too Faced, Tarte, Lorac, Maybelline, Loreal... And surprisingly kind of a lot of becca. I think I have like 4 or 5 products... which is not a lot... but it seems like a lot for mostly highlighters. Lol.
Hope this was helpful! Byeee!
