Faces of the week: 11/8/15
Since I just got quite a few new palettes, I decided to do a faces of the week!
Matte Monday w/ Lorac Unzipped
So I wanted to see if I could do a matte look with the Lorac Unzipped, plus I wanted to try the Sonia Kashuk Matte liquid lipstick... so this looked like it would be good with it!
Face:
I used Too Faced Hangover Rx primer and went in with my L'oreal Truematch Lumi foundation and I wet my I on Beauty Foundation Brush before using it to blend out my foundation. For concealer I used my usual two, Benefit Erase Paste and then Maybelline Superstay Better Skin. For blush I went into the Lorac Unzipped Cheek Palette and used Unapologetic on the cheeks. I applied this in a sort of weird way. I started a little low on my cheeks and then slowly blended upward with the I on Beauty Powder brush.I blended away and then put more on. This is a shimmery blush since I have such a natural matte eye, I decided to go with a shimmery bronzy blush. Then I used Benefit Watts Up Highlighter and the Bareminerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder. I used L'oreal's setting spray and Elf's setting spray.
Ohhh I also applied some concealer on my browbone because I noticed some dark veins there. This also helped make my browbone color look lighter than my lid color... even though they're the same color.
Eyes
Basically I used all the matte shades in the Unzipped Palette. I primed with Lorac's behind the scenes primer and then went in with Undercover all over the lid. I used Unconditional and Unspoken in the crease and put them a little bit on the outer corner as well. Then I went in with Unbridled on the outer corner of the eye... I didn't realize how pigmented this color was so I had to blend quite a bit and blended it into the crease a little bit. Then I used Ulta's cream gel liner in black and I flicked it just a tiny bit. For my lashes I used L'oreal's Butterfly Intenza mascara... which was a little clumpier than it used to be. Lol.
My face looks a little cakey... but I still like most of the face makeup. I'm just very dry right now, I think I'll wear my moisturizing mask today... I haven't been the best with my nighttime skincare routine! Or my daytime one for that matter! I will admit that! But... yeah. This is also an old foundation that I thought looked good a few times when I used it... but in these pics it seems like it might be time to throw it out... idk.
Lips
I used my Sonia Kashuk Liquid Lipstick in Vintage Wine. This is from their Grand Bazaar collection and so far it feels really nice.
Somehow even though I think these shadows are matte... my eyes look shimmery... so one of them might have a little bit of shimmer in it.
Tuesday: Ombre Look w/ Lorac Unzipped Gold
(these pics showed up so bad!) Face:
For Primer I used the Covergirl Outlast and then I used the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream. I used the Lorac Unzipped Blush in Unashamed. Then I powdered with Bareminerals Mineral Veil Powder. I didn't end up using any highlighter because I had some fallout on my eyeshadow right where I would put a highlighter... so that was really fortunate. And fortunate it was in a light gold color lol.
Eyes
I did sort of an Ombre look I guess with my shadows. First I put Unlocked on the inner part of my eyes then I put unlimited on the center, unleashed on the outer part and then took Unwind in the crease. I wanted a little more color in the crease too, so I used undeniable and then I took Unafraid and went on the outer corner of my eye. I used Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara. Ohhh and I used Undressed as a browbone highlight and I think I put some in the inner corner too. This look was super easy because I just kind of started with the first color in the bottom row and then went right... so thats a nice, easy look.
Lips
I didn't actually wear one! I would say something neutral or creamy like a tinted lip balm would look nice with this look. My go to is Maybelline's Babylips Dr. Rescue in Pink Me Up.
Thursday: Another Unzipped Gold Look w/ gel liner
Eyes
With this palette its easier to do eyes first because there is a lot of fallout. So I started with Uninhibited on the inner part of my lid, and then I went with Unpredictable... and I meant to only put that on the center, but I got it everywhere kind of sort of and it ended up covering up Uninhibited a little bit... so this shade was rather Unpredictable... And when I type that I'm thinking of Vector in Despicable Me going UNPREDICTABLE to Gru after stealing the shrink ray or the freeze ray or whatever he steals. Lol. That is my favorite movie of all time, and I haven't seen it in a little while... so yeah.
Anyway then I went in with Unleashed on the outer corner, I used Undeniable and Unwind in the crease and then a tiny bit of Unafraid in the outer corners as well.
I wiped away the fallout with the Elf Professional Foundation Brush that I got in a holiday set last year.
Oh and I primed my eyes with UD Primer Potion.
Ohhh and I used Ulta's gel eyeliner in black and lined my eyes with that. I kind of did a wing but not really... I did a bad job with the liner, but I'm doing better. I used L'oreal's Butterfly Intenza Mascara for my lashes and I combed them a bit with a lash comb because this got a little clumpy on me.
Face
I used the Covergirl Outlast primer and then I sprayed an Up and Up Complexion Brush with the Elf Mist and Fix Setting Spray and applied the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation all over. Then I used my usual concealers, Benefit Erase Paste and Maybelline Superstay Better Skin under my eyes. I then took the Lorac Unzipped Cheek and used the color Underrated and put that on my cheeks. Love this color. I highlighted with Benefit's Watts Up Highlighter and powdered with Bareminerals Mineral Veil Powder and set with Elf Mist and Set.
Lips
I used Nyx Butter Gloss in Eclair... and it survived my coffee too which was nice.
Friday: Rose Gold Look w/ Lorac Unzipped
Face: I primed with the Covergirl Outlast primer and then used the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation. Concealer I used the 2 that I usually used and I've used every other day in this thing. I used the Lorac Unzipped Cheek palette and the color Unimaginable. I highlighted with Benefit's Watts Up, powdered with Bareminerals Mineral Veil and then set with the Elf Mist and Fix.
Eyes: I primed with the Ulta Cream Eyeshadow in Rose Gold and then went in with Unreal all over the lid. Next I took Unbelievable and put that in the outer corner. I put Unconditional and Unspoken in the crease and then I highlighted the browbone with Undercover. And I used the same mascara I've been using.
Lips: Bareminerals Marvelous Moxie Gloss in Birthday Babe, which is the Free Birthday Gift at Ulta.
I took pictures of this look... but it came out horribly. Lol. So... yeah. I may re-create this sometime soon. This is a good quick look.
