How To-sday: Drugstore/ Affordable Thanksgiving Look

So I just got some new eyeshadows from Prestige, so I thought it would be a good time to do a drugstore look! Not everything is available like if you were to go into Target or Wallmart or anything... but its all pretty affordable and its good stuff... so yeah.

Face
I don't love the way my face makeup came out and I'll 'splain. First I used the Elf Moisturizer, I think you can find this at some wall mart and target stores now... then I put on my Maybelline Master Prime Illuminating Primer and then went in with the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation and I wet my Target Up and Up brush with the Elf Mist and set and used that under. This looks slightly cakey on my dry skin... I had an allergy attack on Saturday... I should have went with a BB Cream or something... but whatever. Then I went in with the Elf Contour Palette... and I messed that up. I used the Contour Shade without using the bronzer in the palette... so it was really harsh and I just didn't like the way it turned out. Then I used a blush from the blush palette that was a little darker... which is fine... but then I used the Catrice Highlighting Pen for my highlight...

Now When I did this there was barely any product on the applicator so I clicked it up a little bit... and then I got entirely too much highlight on. This is super glittery, a little goes a long way, I would just take a tiny bit, put it on my fingertip and arrange that in a dot motion just on my cheekbones and then blend it out with a stipple brush... I just did it with the applicator on this and it just looked wayyy too much. I'm probably just going to wipe my face makeup off after this because it looks ridiculous. Lol... but I'm posting this anyway, cause its a real learning moment. I blended it out a little bit with the Elf Undereye setting powder and the matte highlight from the Elf Contour kit... but it still looks uneven... and its just really odd looking and I don't like it. This product can work and look nice I'm sure... but its high maintenance. So yeah.

I used Maybelline's Superstay concealer under my eyes and I used the matte highlight from the elf palette under the eyes and then I used the Elf under eye setting powder too cause why not.

Eyes
The Eye look I really like and I'll definitely do this again, I may do this for thanksgiving. I really like it! First I primed With Ulta's Rose Gold Cream Eyeshadow and then I used the Prestige True Metals Eyeshadow in Copper. This is amazing. I love it. So pigmented, just as good as an Urban Decay... I really like it. Then I used Milani's Bella Cappuccino and Bella Mandarin in the crease and Nillionaire from Colourpop in the outer corner... which is an awesome color to go with the Copper color. I love this Nillionaire color, I love color pop and this is just so good together.

For my lashes I used L'oreal's Butterfly Intenza and for my lips I used Neutrogena's Moisture Smooth Color Slick in Rich Rasin.... but before that I did something else bad lol.

I was going to use Maybelline's Matte Lipstick in Rich Ruby, which is a beautiful Red color and I love the formula of these... but this color definitely needs a lip liner or something with it because it was feathering into the outside of my lip line. So I went in with the Catrice Lip Liner in Red Cadillac I think... and thats not my favorite lip liner. Its very dry, so its a little hard to get on and it doesn't feel super comfortable on the lips... so I just wasn't a big fan. I'd say if you need a lipliner I 100% recommend Essence over this one. Idk if they have a red color though... but those are nice, creamy pencils and this is just so dry it's going to take forever to fill in the full lips and you need to make sure your lips are very moisturized to use that.

So... yeah those are kind of what not to do with makeup and its always useful to learn. Lol. I'll update you if I have any better luck with these specific products. I 100% Love the eye look and I might end up doing this for thanksgiving... but the face look... there are some things I could do differently. Maybe I'll use the same thing in my next How-Tosday and see if they work any better... hmmm...

Ohhh and I used some concealer and the matte highlight from the Elf Contour Palette under the browbone because I have some veins that I like covering up and that just helps a little bit better. This is something I've been doing more recently and I like that.

Alrighty Stay tuned next week for updates I guess and yeah. That's about it!

Byeee!

P.S- Update- There was a lot of fallout on my eyes a few hours after wearing this look! The mascara and all the glitters were falling out... maybe a primer or a concealer and powder would work better than a cream shadow. I was upset! I'll update you on that too... but then I probably won't use this look for thanksgiving cause that just sucked. Lol.
