Product of The Day: Up and Up Complexion Brush
So I feel like every once and a while I'm going to just talk about one product that I just kind of want to give a little bit of spotlight to. It could be a good product, it could be a bad product. With my skin, it could easily be something that works 9 times out of 10 and then just looks terrible on the 10th time. Just something I want to do a sort of informal review on that I don't think I'll mention in my favorites or anything.
Actually... maybe I'll keep these positive. Maybe this will be like an MVP of the day or a Poop of the day or something. Poop of the day? There has to be a better way to say that...
So today I have an MVP and it is the Up and Up Complexion Brush... which is pretty great. I think I'm just getting the hang of using Foundation brushes. Sometimes it can look cakey on my dry skin, but I think now that I'm getting the hang of using it, it looks pretty good.
Basically what I do is dot my foundation, BB Cream or CC Cream or whatever I'm using on my face and then I just go over it with this brush in quick, round motions. And I'll go over it with a setting spray and a beauty sponge if it looks streaky or anything... but honestly it usually looks alright and blended well.
I spray it with setting spray every once and a while too. I think this helps blend it a little bit. I was really proud of myself because I thought I came up with this on my own and I thought I was some sort of makeup genius with great tips... but no. Jacklyn Hill does this all the time apparently and she mentioned it in her full coverage foundation video... which she didn't use a setting spray with because she mixed her foundation with Oil and Oil and Water separates, so your foundation would separate if you did that... which I did not know.
I also love the handles on these Up and Up Brushes. I love my Real Techniques brushes and will continue to buy them... but their handles are bad and get bent so easily. These handles and barrels are really nice and sturdy and that is awesome. I like these handles and bamboo handles the best I think.
And the hairs are really soft too. This feels like a nice luxurious brush to me... but its from Target and its super affordable and really quite good.
So that is that. I may do these every sunday just cause they're quick and easy to post. I may do these more often than that too... idk. I like mentioning good products when I do my makeup and sometimes I feel like maybe this isn't a favorite or maybe this is just something everyone should know about, but I don't want to just do a review on. So this is today's MVP I guess... and I like it!
