Black Owned Beauty Brands Haul!

Okay- so I've watched a lot of youtubers doing black owned beauty brand makeup looks and I do use a lot of black owned brands. Juvia's Place is a brand I use a lot. I use Tracey Ellis Ross's haircare line Pattern every day and I have recently tried Coloured Raine and The Lip Bar... but I've heard a lot of youtubers talk and use a lot of other brands I hadn't tried and... I needed to try them. So I ordered some. I'll have reviews on what I've tried once they arrive- but I'm too excited not to talk about them right now lol!

So I ordered from Beauty Bakerie, Uoma beauty and Mented Cosmetics. Beauty Bakerie and Uoma beauty both had sales for Juneteenth and Mented also has 5 days of deals going on... but I didn't get any deals from that.

Also... let's talk a little bit about Juneteenth. On January 1st 1863 Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation- which was made to end slavery... but Slavery still continued until June 19th 1865 when it was announced in Galveston Texas that all slaves were free. On December 6th of that same year the 13th Amendment was ratified to officially end slavery.

So I knew that Beauty Bakerie announced that they were celebrating Juneteenth this year- so I wanted to go to their website and support them- plus it was a 30% off sale. And I had really wanted to try some products from Uoma Beauty and they were also having a 30% off sale for Juneteenth... and then I couldn't get Mented's lipsticks out of my mind... so I ordered from them too.

Beauty Bakerie

This is their website that I ordered from. They no longer have the 30% off sale- but they do still have some products on their site that aren't available at Ulta... so it's worth checking out.

I ordered 2 of their cheek palettes because they're really cute and I had heard good things about them from EmilyNoel83. I knew I wanted the Cotton Candy Champagne palette because she talks about it so much. It looks really pretty!

I also got the Neapolitan Bar cheek palette... this is so cute! It's only $18 full price and you get a blush, bronzer and a highlight in this and it looks like a little ice cream sandwich. It's so cute!

And I couldn't not get a palette... so I got the Eyeshadow Palette in Do It For The Graham. I love S'mores and graham crackers and these colors in this palette are just soo pretty that I really wanted to try it!

Uoma Beauty

This is the website. As of when I'm writing this the sale is still going on and 20% of the proceeds from the sale are donated to liberation focused charities. I'm not sure if Beauty Bakerie did the same thing or not- I believe they did but their sale is no longer available so I'm not exactly sure.

I'm kind of obsessed with Uoma's foundation line. Not only do they have sooo many color ranges... but they have different formulas for their different shade ranges to address the skin concerns that people of that skin type might have. They have 50 or 51 shades... which is a lot. And I do have very fair skin that is kind of hard to find a right shade match for... which is why I WOULD LOVE if Ulta carried this brand in stores. But it was easy to match on their webiste- if you say what shade you are in a different brand... they can find it out. They also have A LOT of brands to chose from so I'm glad I could find one. I used Too Faced Born This Way's foundation in Porcelain to match because I think that was the closest shade match I have. So I got the Say What!?! foundation in White Pearl T2N- which I think contains anti aging benefits and benefits for dry skin. I'm very excited to try this. I had just ran out of a foundation and I'm trying to purchase less foundations now... but I really needed to try this because it's very unique.

I also got one of their color palettes. These are eyeshadow palettes- but they have to call them Pigment Palettes or Color palettes because the FDA has very strict guidelines on certain formulas of red shades. I do have sensitive eyes- and I've never been bothered by a pigment that was deemed "not safe for eye area" so I think this will be fine. I got the palette in Black Magic Carnival. EmilyNoel83 used this in her video on Black Owned makeup brands and she got such a fun look with it... that I knew I had to have it!

Mented Cosmetics

This is their website. Like I said they currently have 5 days of deals going on and I believe it's day 3 when I'm posting this... I'm not sure what the deal is- but there are also a lot of coupon codes for the site. They actually send you one when you purchase that you can share with friends so they can get $10 off when they use it and I could get $10 off to use also... so I'm going to link that right here too. Hopefully that works- it's not an affiliate link it's just something that they give every customer.

Anyway... I got 2 of their Matte lipsticks. I got the shades Pretty in Pink and Peach Please.

This brand was kind of made based on their lipsticks because it's hard for women of color to find nude lipsticks obviously because not everyones nude lipstick is a pink or peach. They show these lip colors on 4 different skintones and they all look beautiful on every shade but it's totally different and they just all look really pretty. I got 2 of the lighter shades because I would wear these to work... maybe not now because I Have to wear a mask anyway... but I know I'll wear lighter shades more than darker shades.

They also have a lot of formulas. They have liquid lipsticks, matte lipsticks, and semi matte lipsticks. The Semi Mattes were sold out in this shade... so I just went with the mattes... so I'm excited to try these.

Anyway I hope you guys like this post! I'm sure I'll have reviews on these products soon!

Bye!
