Blogmas Day 4: Fragrance Friday- Nest, Juliette Has A Gun and Francesca's Mini/ Rollerball Gift Set Reviews!
So I got a couple of different Rollerball Sets recently... and I thought it would be a good time to review them both. Both of them make nice gifts... or you could break them up. The Nest is probably best as one gift all together... but the Francesca's you could definitely break up for different sets. These are nice and I just wanted to give them some love!
Nest Inked By Nest Eau de Parfum & Scent Tattoo Set- $10 Sephora or Sephora.com!
First off it's $10 and you get 2 different rollerballs. These are less than the regular full size of the Nest rollerballs... but not by all that much... and for the 2 of them... it's probably about the same size as the full size rollerball give or take. Lol. And a full size rollerball is $27 whereas this set is $10... so that is pretty awesome.
The scents are very unique... but at the same time I feel like if you like one of these scents you'll probably like both. They're both floral scents that I would say are good nighttime scents. I've been wearing the one I've been wearing pretty much all day. I put it on... probably at 11 in the morning and it's 10:15 now. The scent I have on is Black Tulip... I actually probably reapplied it throughout the day...but not recently and it still smells really good!
I tried the Indigo on last night and I also really loved that. It's kind of similar to Black Tulip... but it is sort of the same fragrance family and they're both really nice nighttime floral scents. I don't know if I'd like these a few years ago... but I like them a lot. I'm happy to try both of these. They might be a little mature... but for $10 this is an awesome gift or stocking stuffer... I just like it a lot and I know I'll be using these a lot.
Now the Tattoos... I'm skeptical of these tbh... it is sort of a fun thing... but I can't imagine many grown women actually excited to use these scent tattoos. I might try putting this in my bullet journal or something... that might be cool... I kind of want to use it before reviewing this but I don't think it will make that much of a difference of how I feel... this is a little silly. If they had one more scent in it I'd be a little happier than these scented tattoos... but it does look really pretty and it's something fun and different that I'm sure not many fragrances have. I don't think I'll use it before I publish this review... but I will include it in a Frugal, Fancy, Fragrance, Fashion Favorites post... I think I'll post that tomorrow even though today is Friday... I wanted to have this in Blogmas.
Juliette Has A Gun Discover Set $18 at Sephora.com and in select stores
This one I've had for a while... and honestly I love it... but I'm only really going to talk about my favorite scents in this because... there's a lot there. Juliette Has a Gun is a Niche brand... so it might not be for everyone and it's very very expensive... but I really wanted to try some of the scents and there are 3 I would honestly consider buying in a full size... even though the cheapest full size is $100...and it's only for a one ounce bottle. There are similar scents... so I'll talk about that too.
The one I think I'd most likely purchase is Mmmm. This is a really nice, sweet scent. To me it smells a little like Nirvana Bourbon... so I probably won't buy this- I'll just keep using my Nirvana Bourbon Rollerball and purchase a full size of that eventually... but I still like how it smells. I think it's really nice. Doesn't last that long.
The one that's probably the most unique is Not A Perfume. This is just one note- and it goes really well with a lot of the other scents in this set. It's good to kind of tone down some deeper scents like Lady Vengence... which I also really love. And it smells great on it's own too. The note in this is Cetalox... which they describe as a base note used in many fragrances... so it probably gets lost in those and it just works great in this one!
And the one that surprised me the most and is probably the most different from anything I've smelled is Anyway. That's the perfect name to describe the fragrance too... its just like "Anyway." It's so simple... so girly and it just smells absolutely amazing.
The set I had doesn't have Sunny Side Up in it... but the other scents are great too... just not something I'd pay $100 for.
Francesca's Rollerball Set- $25 at Francesca's
So I had seen a few of these scents but I never really smelled them or anything... then my friend got me a scent called The Romantic for My Birthday... and that was really great and it lasted a long time on me... so I saw that they had a rollerball set and I actually liked all of the rollerballs in it too. so that was especially good too.
These are all full sized rollerballs... in a set for $25... so I think that's a pretty good deal. A full sized rollerball is $10... and there are 5 in this set... so thats 50% off if you buy this set. Not bad. Also not a bad deal for a rollerball... High end rollerballs are usually at least $20 or $25... and these are just as good.
My favorite is still The Romantic. This is the best scent to give as a gift. It's just very light, girly and it just kind of smells like something a lot of people would like and would use every day. I do have a larger size of this in a spray bottle... and I'm happy to have the rollerball also. This lasts pretty well. Better than my Katy Perry scents... probably even better than something like Juicy Couture... so that's something to keep in mind.
Second favorite is probably The Rebel. This is a bit stronger... maybe a little more nighttime. This has fruitier scents in it... but it also has sandalwood... this is like a summery nighttime scent.
The Muse is a little similar. That one has crushed blackberry so it smells a little deep as well... it also has pink peony and white cedarwood... it just smells really great and I love it. I love the name The Muse... I kind of want to be someone's muse... lol.
The Boho Belle I think is a nice giftable scent too. It smells a little lighter, more summery and better for the daytime. This has jasmine in it also.
And then The Traveler... which I think is what convinced me to buy the set... but I honestly haven't used this one a whole lot. I kind of want to use it while traveling because that seems like a great idea. This is also kind of summery and it has some fruity flavors and amber.
I think this is probably the best to get as an actual gift because... even though it's the most expensive, it is the most bang for your buck. These scents would each be giftable on their own also. In the rollerball set, they don't have a box or anything so keep that in mind if you're breaking these up to gift them. Either way... I still think it'd be nice to break up and put in a stocking or something with other gifts... or to just give the set as a whole to a fragrance lover!
I think Juliette Has A Gun might be the least giftable... just because the samples are just very small samples...and it is nice to try a sample that size of a very expensive perfume... but it isn't a great deal and a lot of the scents won't be for everyone. So if you know someone that loves Niche perfumes- this would be great for them.
And the Nest Perfume would be a fun little gift too... it's not a huge gift and it is a little gimmicky with the tattoos... but these are still really great and a really nice way to try these 2 scents that maybe you wouldn't have otherwise. These are very floral though... so if you know someone who loves floral... this is for them!
That is everything! Hope you like this Fragrance Review! I'll try to have my regular Frugal, Fancy, Fragrance, Fashion, Favorites post tomorrow and I hope you're having fun with Blogmas!
