The ULTIMATE Guide to Liquid Lipsticks!- Grading All My Faves!

I've been wearing a lot of liquid lipsticks lately... and I think I have enough now that I can do a big guide to let everyone know the good, the bad... what ones are comfy, what ones aren't so comfy... and which ones will last you all day! So onto the guide!

Milani Amore Matte Metallic- A+
I wasn't sure whether or not I was really into the metallic trend... I had one other Metallic lipstick, and I liked it, but... then I tried this... and it was just sooo good! It's very metallic, very comfortable and it wears for such a long time! The price is good, the Metallic Aspect is awesome, it's pretty comfortable for the most part... sometimes it gets a bit dry on the lips… but I haven’t had that problem that often… it’s just a really good liquid lipstick that I would highly recommend, especially if you love really metallic, dramatic lips!

Too Faced Melted Matte- C+
I have a few shades of these… and they aren’t bad. You don’t really need a lip liner with them… if you’re going out in a hurry, these are amazing… but they don’t last on my lips very long and I just don’t think they’re worth $21! There’s just sooo much better stuff that is out there for a more affordable price.

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks B+
These work a lot better for me… but they are a little more high maintenance than the Melted Matte. You kind of need a lip liner with these… maybe a lip primer also… but it isn’t bad. They have a nice selection of colors… I’m afraid of these getting phased out because of the Melted Mattes… These I would recommend over that for sure! They bleed a little bit, which is why you need a liner… but they’re great and I recommend these!

Wet n Wild Catsuit Matte Liquid Lipsticks: A
This lasts wayyy better than most of the high end liquid lipsticks. It isn’t too uncomfortable, it does get a little bit uncomfortable at times, which is why it’s not an A+ but it does last all day and the applicator is good too. For the price, you can’t beat it. It’s not streaky or bad… it just works really well.

Jouer  A-
These don’t last a very long time… but they last well enough, they’re very comfortable and they have really nice color selections. I have 4 of these. 3 in the regular formula… one in the Metallic. I was going to group the metallic differently than the regular matte lipsticks… but I have the same things to say about it more or less… they feel the same and wear the same… but the metallics are slightly more subtle than the Milani ones and I don’t like them quite as much. The price for these is also pretty fair… I don’t think it’s too expensive… it’s worth the price for sure and I’d like getting some more of these.

This is Noisette from Jouer.

Colourpop Ultra Satin- A+
I wasn’t really thinking this was my favorite… but it checks all the marks really. It lasts pretty much all day for me, it’s comfortable… it doesn’t feather or bleed outside the lip line… AND it’s a really good price for $6. They have sooo many colors of this too… I just really like these and these were a pleasant surprise!

I believe this is Echo Park from the Ultra Satin Line.

Colourpop Ultra Matte A -
This hits pretty much all the boxes except comfort. These last super, super well on me… but they really aren’t the comfiest. These are also a little bit messy. The applicator is a little hard to apply and if it gets outside of your lip line- it is hard to remove.

Buxom Wildly Whipped Lightweight Liquid Lipstick- D+
This just did not wow me at all. I only had a sample of this last year… and it didn’t dry down. I think it was a little messy. I did a review on this based off of that point perk sample… somewhere on this blog… I haven’t reached for this once since to be honest. I wouldn’t purchase another and I was unimpressed… no way I would pay $21 for that or recommend it. I do love Buxom and I think they definitely have a lot of hidden gems… but this is not one of them!

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color- B-
These are not matte at all… idk where they got that idea. I still like it. It’s a little bit messy… but it lasts a pretty long time on the lips. I kind of like the color selection of the line too… they’re not bad. I want to start wearing the one I have a little more often because it is really nice.  The smell of these is also pretty strong… I kind of like it- it’s like a medicinal cherry… which is kind of stinky, but for some reason I love it.

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks- C+
This is kind of the same as the Revlon. It’s a similar formula… but I don’t think I’d purchase any more of these, whereas I would purchase another one of the Revlon’s maybe. I think there is more of a color selection with these…but I like the color selection of the Revlon better. Sometimes less is more lol. This is good, pretty comfortable and lasted a good amount of time… but I’m not in love with it.

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams- B
These are good and a lot of higher end brands have similar products… I don’t dislike it… I never really reach for mine… not sure if I still have it. It feels nice and lasted okay but not great. This has a good range also… and it’s just pretty good all in all. I like it!

Nyx Liquid Suade Liquid Lipsticks B-
I really liked these…no one else seemed to, but they worked for me. It felt comfortable… didn't last all day but it lasted a long time. The applicator  is good on these too. I definitely need to wear them more often. I’ve heard people complain of patchiness with these… I guess they are a bit patchy… but I didn’t have too many problems.

Jordana C-
The formula of this kind of lasted… but it wore off in like a weird patch. I did a review on this… and at the time I was happy it lasted… but thinking about it now… it wore off weirdly and it wasn’t all that comfortable. I haven’t used it much since I got this and did the review of it… so maybe I should try using it again… but it isn’t my favorite- wouldn’t buy more.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick- A-
Right? These are awesome lol. This is what started the trend more or less… they’re pretty much fantastic and universally loved… I think Kat has an Okay color selection… but she has expanded a lot, so clearly she needed to expand some things! These don’t last amazingly on me… they aren't the most comfortable and I’m not super impressed with the color selection or the price… so there’s that too. But they are really good and I’d buy more.

Ofra Liquid Lipstick- B-
These are good… the formula is similar to the Nyx Matte Lip Cream’s… maybe a little bit better. They don’t wear the best for me… and I like them… but I don’t reach for them often and I haven’t wanted to get any more colors. Plus the price isn’t great… but they have affiliate discounts- Use those because they are marked up to include the affiliate discount price. So, not the best, not bad by any means though.

Quite Positive this is Ofra Havana Nights... I believe this was Christmas Eve a year or so ago!

Bareminerals Gen Nude- A-
Very comfortable… doesn’t wear opaque for a long time… but it does wear for a pretty long time and it doesn’t wear messily or unevenly. The scent smells like Brownies… these are a pretty good price for a high end liquid lipstick… and I just like them. They are all nude lipsticks… so you aren’t going to find a huge variation in color… but they’re really really good anyway! This is what inspired me to do the post… Maybe I just like this more because it’s new to me… but it’s still really good.

Makeup Geek Plush Matte B-
I feel like this is a hidden gem. I never hear anyone talk about these… but I love the one that I have… and that’s the problem… there was really only one color I was interested in… and I don’t know that I would order more anytime soon because I haven't heard good reviews and I think this might just be a fluke where this one works really well for me and none of the other colors will. The price isn’t amazing for these… and it lasts pretty long… but it isn’t great. It’s special… but not that special.

Nars Velvet Lip Glide- B+- I really like these... but I feel like I've recommended them to people that have not liked them as much... so I'm marking them down because it isn't for everyone. It looks sort of glossy almost... it isn't matte at all. It stays on pretty well, doesn't feather outside the lip line at all... but I feel like this isn't something I can totally 100% recommend because I know people are picky with this one. So it works for me personally, but it might not work for everyone!

Alright… that’s about it. I hope you liked this guide! I hope it was somewhat useful!

Byeee!
